2021 Winners
Bayan Khatib
Bayan Khatib is the Co-Founder and Executive Director of The Syrian Canadian Foundation. The organization aims to empower newcomers and people of diverse backgrounds, while promoting cross cultural exchanges in Canadian society, and advocating for the voiceless.
Ana Maria Dumitrache
Ana is a student at McGill University studying Political Science, Canadian Studies, and Sociology. Ana is passionate about creating inclusive resources for immigrant women, such as sexual and reproductive health education.
Aysha Yaqoob
Aysha Yaqoob is a high school teacher in Regina, Saskatchewan, as well as the Co-Founder of Pencils of Hope. Aysha believes in a society where equity, diversity, and inclusion are integrated into all practices and marginalized communities have equal access to education.
Sepideh Afshar
Sepideh is a student at McGill University and President of McGill's Pre-Law Society. She is an advocate for equity, diversity, and inclusion and actively pursues this through her role at Sex and Self.
Tatenda Mhaka
Tatenda is a Youth Program Coordinator at Saskatchewan Council for International Cooperation. She is an advocate for the creation of policies that promote social cohesion, inclusion, and equity.
